CNBC host Jim Cramer called Mark Zuckerberg‘s Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) a “monster long” position following new user retention data for its Muse artificial intelligence application. The data shows Muse achieving initial user retention rates that approach those of OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Early User Retention Metrics
Financial analyst Deedy Das, Partner at Menlo Ventures, published Sensor Tower data for September 2026 analyzing Day-1 to Day-14 mobile app retention across 81 countries. The metrics show that Meta’s Muse brings back 73.3% of new users on the day after installation, compared to ChatGPT’s Day-1 rate of 41.3%.
However, Muse’s user retention declines faster over two weeks. ChatGPT overtakes Muse between Day 8 and Day 9. By Day 14, ChatGPT retains 26.8% of its initial user base, while Muse retains 22.5%.
Wall Street Outlook
Sharing the comparative data, Das noted that Meta Muse’s retention is “almost as good as ChatGPT,” highlighting that Muse’s Day-7 retention rate exceeded 30%.
Cramer cited the performance data as evidence supporting his bullish outlook on Meta’s stock. Responding to the retention metrics, Cramer posted on social media: “Meta continues– I think it is a monster long but i know others are coming…”.

The Sensor Tower dataset evaluated 100 Day-1 users across major platforms over a 14-day window. By Day 14, ChatGPT kept 26.8% of users, followed by Meta’s Muse at 22.5%, Instagram’s Threads at 21.2%, Google Maps at 18.5%, and X Corp.’s Grok Bot at 10.4%.
